This page explains how to upload a design to an existing project. You can add multiple CAD design to a project for review and upload multiple versions for each model. To upload a new design, choose Upload new design on the project page.


Upload a new design

Go to the designs tab in your project overview and choose Upload new design on the right.

Upload a STEP file / single part / PDF

If you want to upload a STEP file, a single part or a PDF choose to upload a single file.

Then, navigate your file explorer and select the correct file.

Upload an assembly

If you want to upload an assembly with linked parts, choose to upload an Assembly & parts.

Then, navigate your file explorer and select a folder containing both the assembly file and all linked parts. Please note that all non relevant files in the folder will be discarded later.

A browser pop-up should now appear to confirm that you want to upload multiple files. Choose “upload”.

Selecting the main assembly

<aside> 📌 When uploading a folder, Bench3D cannot determine what assembly in your folder is the main assembly.

Select the main assembly in the menu on the right by clicking change.

Once you have confirmed the main assembly, choose Upload assembly and files.

You can also upload files by just dragging a file or a folder containing assembly and files onto the upload screen.

Done!

Now you just have to wait for your model to upload and convert and then proceed to explore your model in 3D!
